As a self-taught filmmaker Kieran's short films essentially represent his industry apprenticeship. He tried to make each successive film a little more complex or difficult than its predecessor - sometimes it meant a larger cast, more locations, or a more ambitious visual style, but other times it was just down to logistics, money and timing. The styles of the films are all a little different, representing experimentation with different ideas as he always let the story dictate the style rather than try to superimpose a pre-detremined look or feel over the narrative.
